Since childhood the “Solinger Tageblatt”, our regional daily newspaper, has been with me and interested me.

Even as a child I would perch on the sofa and read the story. And the “Solinger Platt”, our dialect, has always been close to my heart. In the “Solinger Tageblatt” there were always interesting stories in “Solinger Platt” which I enjoyed reading. I was always interested in the small prize puzzle. Words were to be translated into standard German and sent in.

When we were unemployed, and at a pinch, we shared the “Solinger Tageblatt”. Afterwards it would be torn into small pieces and thrown in the toilet “Das Hüsken” as toilet paper.

Even today I pass on the “Solinger Tageblatt”. In that way more people can enjoy it and keep up to date.
